Eucharistic Prayer

Anima Christi

The Anima Christi with a Catholic reflection on union with Christ, the Passion, and desire for holiness.

The Anima Christi is a classic Catholic prayer often prayed after receiving the Eucharist or during quiet meditation on Christ's Passion. It asks to be sanctified, strengthened, and kept close to the Lord.

Prayer

Soul of Christ, sanctify me.

Body of Christ, save me.

Blood of Christ, inebriate me.

Water from the side of Christ, wash me.

Passion of Christ, strengthen me.

O good Jesus, hear me.

Within thy wounds hide me.

Suffer me not to be separated from thee.

From the malignant enemy defend me.

In the hour of my death call me,

and bid me come unto thee,

that with thy saints I may praise thee

forever and ever.

Amen.

Reflection

This prayer is intensely Christ-centered. It helps the soul remain near the mysteries of the Passion and express the deep Catholic desire never to be separated from Christ.
