Santo Tomás Moro, mártir, que, por no aceptar el matrimonio del rey Enrique VIII y mantenerse fiel al primado del Romano Pontífice, fue encarcelado en la Torre de Londres. Padre de familia, de vida integérrima, presidente del consejo real, por mantenerse fiel a la Iglesia Católica murió el día 6 de julio, uniéndose así al martirio del obispo San Juan Fisher.
