Memoria de san Moisés, profeta, a quien Dios eligió para liberar al pueblo oprimido en Egipto y conducirlo a la tierra de promisión. También se le reveló en el monte Sinaí, diciéndole: «Yo soy el que soy», y le propuso la ley para regir la vida del pueblo elegido. Murió lleno de días en el monte Nebo, en tierra de Moab, a las puertas de la tierra de promisión.
