Fiesta de san Matías, apóstol, que siguió al Señor Jesús desde el bautismo de Juan bautista hasta el día en que Cristo subió a los cielos, y por esta razón, después de la Ascensión del Señor, fue puesto por los apóstoles en el lugar que había ocupado Judas, el traidor, para que, formando parte del grupo de los Doce, fuese testigo de la resurrección.
