Fiesta de san Marcos, evangelista, que en primer lugar siguió a san Pablo, en Jerusalén, en el trabajo apostólico, y más adelante siguió los pasos de san Pedro, que lo llama su hijo. Se dice que su Evangelio recogió la catequesis de Pedro a los romanos y que fue el que instituyó la Iglesia de Alejandría (s. I).
