Solemnidad de la Natividad de san Juan Bautista, Precursor del Señor, que estando aún en el seno materno, al quedar éste lleno del Espíritu Santo, exultó de gozo por la próxima llegada de la salvación del género humano. Su nacimiento profetizó la Navidad de Cristo el Señor, y brilló con tal esplendor de gracia, que el mismo Jesucristo dijo que no hubo entre los nacidos de mujer nadie tan grande como Juan el Bautista.
