Conmemoración de san Isaías, profeta, que en tiempo de Ozías, Jotam, Ajaz y Ezequías, reyes de Judá, fue enviado a un pueblo infiel y pecador, para manifestarle al Dios fiel y salvador, en cumplimiento de las promesas que Dios juró a David. Conforme ha transmitido la tradición existente entre los judíos, murió martirizado bajo el reinado de Manasés (s. VIII a. C.).
