En Neocesarea, del Ponto, san Gregorio, obispo, que, siendo aun adolescente, abrazó la fe cristiana, fue progresando en las ciencias divinas y humanas, y, ordenado obispo, brilló por su doctrina, virtudes y trabajos apostólicos. Por los incontables milagros que realizó, se le llamó “Taumaturgo”.
